The method uses 6 phases:

• AS-IS: describes the current situation, business processes and workflow, strategies, systems, applications, and interfaces, problems, issues, and risks;
• TO-BE: describes the future situation, the solved, remaining or new problems, issues and risks, the future business processes and workflows, business strategies, the new or adapted systems and applications, and the modified interfaces;
• DELTA: The path to change from the 'AS-IS' to the 'TO-BE', the needed projects with their outputs, the activities to implement the changes, the expected outcomes and the benefits related to the business strategy;
• PLAN: A detailled program plan with projects and activities, each with needed resources, estimated costs, milestones and relationships. The plan contains also the benefit reviews;
• CHANGE & CLOSE: these 2 phases correspond with the realisation of the proposed solutions and changes. They're executed during a program or a project. To read more about the program and project management activities of Ignace Clarysse click here .

Each of the phases analyzes the following 9 themes:

• Business strategy as described by company management;
• Organization: describe and define the involved roles and the relationship between them;
• Processes: describe the triggers starting or finishing the business processes, the needed input information, the consulted information, the resulting outputs, and the roles involved;
• Technology: the technology used by the company inclusive Information Technology;
• Systems and applications: the information architecture used by the company and the interfaces between applications;
• Information: the needed information and information flow;
• External relations describe the relations with e.g. government, suppliers and customers. How are they involved in the business processes and the information flow?
• Benefits: tangible and intangible benefits, define the benefit profile and the relation to the changes. They're related to the business strategy;
• Integration: consider the integration aspects of the previous themes. Define the issues and risks.

This method has been used in combination with 'International or Multi-site Process Roll-out' method.
